Our work

Projects

A selection of completed electrical testing and commissioning projects across industrial, utility, and commercial sectors throughout the Gulf Coast region and beyond.

Proven in the Field

Since 2004, J. Wesley Services Group has delivered NETA-compliant electrical testing, commissioning, and maintenance services on projects ranging from single-unit transformer testing to full substation commissioning. Our work spans petrochemical facilities, municipal utilities, industrial plants, and commercial developments.

Every project below reflects our commitment to independent, documented, standards-based testing — delivered on schedule and to specification.

Petrochemical Facility Substation Commissioning

Petrochemical / IndustrialGulf Coast, AL

Scope of Work

NETA ATS commissioning of a new 13.8 kV substation including medium-voltage switchgear, power transformers, protective relays, and low-voltage distribution equipment prior to energization.

Outcome

All equipment verified to NETA ATS specifications. Three wiring discrepancies and one relay mis-setting identified and corrected before energization. Full commissioning report delivered for project closeout.

Municipal Water Treatment Plant — Electrical Maintenance Testing

Municipal UtilitySouthwest Alabama

Scope of Work

NETA MTS maintenance testing of the facility's entire medium-voltage distribution system including switchgear, transformers, motor control centers, and cable systems. Insulation resistance and contact resistance testing performed on all primary equipment.

Outcome

Critical insulation degradation identified on two aging feeders, enabling planned replacement before failure. Updated maintenance baseline established for all tested equipment.

Industrial Plant Circuit Breaker Testing Program

Manufacturing / IndustrialMobile, AL

Scope of Work

Acceptance and maintenance testing of low- and medium-voltage circuit breakers across a large manufacturing facility. Testing included contact resistance, insulation resistance, primary injection, and trip timing verification.

Outcome

Twelve breakers identified with out-of-tolerance trip times. All deficiencies documented and corrected prior to return to service. Ongoing annual testing program established.

Commercial Development — Switchgear Acceptance Testing

Commercial ConstructionMobile County, AL

Scope of Work

NETA ATS acceptance testing of new low-voltage switchgear and distribution panelboards for a large commercial development. Testing performed in coordination with the general contractor and electrical subcontractor to meet project closeout schedule.

Outcome

All equipment accepted to NETA ATS criteria. Testing completed on schedule, supporting on-time certificate of occupancy. Full test reports provided to owner and AHJ.

Utility Transmission Substation — Protective Relay Testing

Electric UtilityAlabama

Scope of Work

Functional testing and calibration of protective relay systems at a transmission substation, including overcurrent, differential, and distance relays. Testing performed in coordination with utility operations personnel under strict safety protocols.

Outcome

All relays verified to operate within specified pickup and timing parameters. One relay found with degraded operating coil — replaced prior to return to service.

Offshore Support Facility — Cable Testing

Oil & Gas / MarineGulf Coast

Scope of Work

VLF and insulation resistance testing of medium-voltage cable systems at an offshore support and fabrication facility. Testing performed on both new installations and aging in-service cables to assess overall system condition.

Outcome

Two cable sections identified with significantly elevated tan delta values indicating advanced insulation aging. Proactive replacement scheduled, avoiding unplanned outage during peak operations.
